The Regulatory Affairs Committee represents the interstate natural gas pipeline industry's interests before The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which is the economic regulator of the interstate natural gas pipeline industry.
The committee interfaces with FERC and generally counsels (with input from the other INGAA committees, as appropriate) the INGAA Board on matters concerning FERC. The committee also assigns individual members to act as liaisons with the other committees as necessary.
The committee is responsible for preparing INGAA’s FERC rulemaking comments, preparing litigation strategy, appealing FERC decisions to the Court of Appeals and advising the Board of Directors on INGAA’s regulatory positions. The Regulatory Affairs Committee meets frequently, primarily via conference call, in response to legal and regulatory developments. The committee also drafts and conducts internal confidential surveys for both internal education and use in INGAA pleadings.
