WASHINGTON, DC -- The board of directors of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) has appointed Chad Zamarin to serve as chair of the organization for a one-year term. Mr. Zamarin is Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategic Development at Williams (NYSE: WMB). Williams owns and operates more than 30,000 miles of pipelines system-wide and handles approximately 30 percent of the natural gas in the U.S. that is used every day for clean power generation, heating and industrial use.

“Chad brings extensive industry experience to the chair role, and I look forward to working with him to continue to promote and secure reasonable regulatory improvements for our industry,” said Amy Andryszak, President and CEO of INGAA. “Chad’s understanding of how natural gas and its related infrastructure meet national and global security and reliability needs aligns with INGAA’s efforts to position natural gas as foundational to achieving our nation’s economic and environmental goals.”

At Williams, Mr. Zamarin oversees enterprise-level strategy, business development and customer-relationship management. He is also responsible for government affairs, communications, community relations, and project analysis at Williams. Prior to joining Williams in 2017, Mr. Zamarin served as Senior Vice President and President, Pipeline and Midstream at Cheniere Energy, Inc.

“The natural gas pipeline industry operates irreplaceable assets that provide reliable natural gas services while also reducing emissions and providing a path to a lower carbon footprint. Never before has it been more important to communicate the benefits of natural gas and its related infrastructure, which is enabling the next generation of clean energy solutions while also ensuring energy affordability and security both at home and around the world,” said Mr. Zamarin. “I am honored to serve as the INGAA chair and look forward to working with Amy and INGAA staff over the coming year to advocate on behalf of our industry.”

Mr. Zamarin holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston.

INGAA also appointed Paul Ruppert, President at BHE GT&S as first vice chair, and Michael McMahon, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners as second vice chair.
