INGAA is committed to leading an industry that builds and maintains strong positive relationships with landowners. Interstate pipelines use both in-house Agents as well as third-party contractors. There is no standardized land agent training. Further, companies employ additional contractors, surveyors and environmental workers who may interact with landowners. Not all those in contact with landowners receive the same training. Therefore, pipeline companies and land agents need to find a way to address landowner concerns. In order to address these landowner issues, in January 2008, the INGAA Board of Directors endorsed a document entitled “America’s Natural Gas Transporters’ Commitment to Landowners.”
