At this workshop we are continuing our focus on the construction and fabrication side of building interstate natural gas pipelines--we will focus this effort on constructability, materials issues, welding, NDT and coating issues including issues found during post construction pressure testing and inspection. Presentation topics and discussion will include how these problems manifest themselves, their root cause, qualification of personnel, and how they are addressed.
We will present a status of our previous efforts from our March, 2009 QA/QC Workshop, and June, 2009 Pipe Summit.
The format is designed to communicate experiences and progress from construction contractors, pipeline companies, INGAA Foundation member companies and others. Representative from PHMSA will be invited to update us on their experiences, inspections and what they have learned from them.
We will have a facilitated brainstorming discussion with the panelists and attendees and continue in the afternoon with ranking of the issues as well as potential solutions judged on the basis of feasibility, effectiveness and cost. Possible solutions will be discussed and action items will be identified. The meeting will be summarized and an action plan for follow-up actions will be devised.
