INGAA Statement on Introduction of CRA Resolution to Reinstate NSPS OOOOa Methane Rule

Amy Andryszak, President and Chief Executive Office of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), issued the following statement in response to the introduction of a resolution under the Congressional Review Act to reinstate the NSPS OOOOA for methane:

“We support federal methane standards, including reinstituting NSPS OOOOa, and our members have a long history of minimizing methane emissions from their operations. Through INGAA’s 2018 Methane Emissions Commitments and our 2021 Climate Statement, our member companies have taken a leadership role in addressing climate change by committing to working as an industry towards net-zero emissions by 2050. In recent years, the natural gas transmission industry has faced significant uncertainty regarding federal methane regulations. A stable regulatory framework will allow the industry to invest in the critical infrastructure necessary to reduce emissions and meet increasing demand for cleaner and more affordable energy.”
