Don Santa, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s speech on U.S. environmental priorities:
“Domestic natural gas will continue to play an integral role in meeting our energy needs for decades to come, both at home and abroad. With increased use of American natural gas comes improved air quality, the growing deployment of renewable power generation, and sustained, low energy costs for residents and businesses.
“Our natural gas pipeline network is built by skilled laborers and utilizes the most cutting-edge safety technology. While our energy infrastructure is the envy of the world, key projects are being delayed or blocked entirely, leaving many more environmental and economic benefits on the table. We commend the Trump Administration for working to find commonsense solutions that have moved some of these stalled projects forward, and we look forward to working with the administration and Members of Congress to further improve our environment through the use of clean-burning, domestic natural gas.”
