As an outcome of the INGAA Foundation Pipe Quality summit in June 2009, work teams were formed to address the identified issues. Two of those teams were to: review the process for incorporating pipe spec provisions into pipe manufacturing processes and recommend leading practices and enhancements that 1) operators can incorporate and 2) that manufactures can incorporate into the procurement and manufacturing process.
At this workshop you will get a briefing on the identified essential elements of the procurement process; a perspective from the operator on how to build on API/ISO standards for a pipe order including orders for X70 and X80 pipe; and a manufacturers perspective on what is expected from the purchaser.
There will be group discussions of these perspectives as well as discussion of inspection and test plans/quality assurance plans. There will also be discussion of procedures for the operator and pipe mill working together. Best practices are the expected outcome of these discussions.
